Week 22
The sun sets on a field of Roman metropolis, the first day of the workshop is over. The roof of our hotel had a terrace and a simple bar. We never stayed for drinks, just pictures.
Gardens and duct work in the "upper canopy" of Rome. This is all I want in life, a little rooftop garden bathed in the glow of the sunset, the city spread out below, and shiny pipes by which my home is filled with happiness (mostly in the form
Rome has a good mess of wires up on these roofs, but it's no Lebanon
Jeremy photographs the sunset from our hotel roof. His camera is smaller than mine, but that doesn't make him less of a person (or so we tell him).
Jeremy surveys the ruins near Roma Termini, the main train station, which is just one block from our hotel.
Coffee breakers "enjoy" the sunny terrace. The fiery orb in the sky may be my sworn enemy, but nevertheless I tried to step outside now and again just to liven myself up and maybe shake my fist at that photon spitting devil.

The talks are in full swing and well attended. Also, take this moment to enjoy the architectural attention given to this ceiling. That's duct work to make Roma proud!
Jeremy at his station working on some recording setup between sessions. The camera for recording the lecturers is in the foreground, behind is his laptop, and in front of him a system which captures and stores the audio, video, and slides in realtime. I
